Aboriginal Awareness Week will be held from May 25 to 28, with more than 30 federal departments participating. The event, initiated by Agriculture Canada, will include activities at several locations in Ottawa (Agriculture Canada, Shirley’s Bay, Rideau Centre, etc.). Interested Indigenous artisans and artists must register by January 30 with Pam Mitchell. A list of more than 150 names has already been compiled to enable departments to invite participants. Popular products include modern clothing with Indigenous designs and jewelry. Artists are invited to submit their names to exhibit their work.
